Tokyo Disney and Amy's Visit

Hi there!

Once again I am so far behind!

My beautiful sister, Amy, or Pame + Babe, as I call her now since she's pregnant, was here visiting for 10 days at the end of January. We had the most amazing time together. She was our first visitor to Japan and it was so nice having her here and showing her around. Besides eating all kinds of delicious food, we toured around Tokyo going to the Sky Tree, the zoo, the Meiji Shrine, Senso-ji Buddhist temple, on a Sumida River boat ride and to DisneyLand and DisneySea.

The Tokyo Sky Tree is the tallest tower on Earth. We could see the horizon in every direction before we could see the edges of Tokyo, the largest city on Earth.

My favorite part of Disney Land was all the popcorn stands. The first thing we saw as we entered Disney Land was a line, but instead of some big ride or fancy restaurant, the line was for a popcorn stand. We laughed and couldn't understand why people would stand in line for an hour for popcorn, until we finally stood in line ourselves and tried some. OMG... We had honey popcorn, curry popcorn, chocolate popcorn, strawberry popcorn, orange marmalade popcorn, caramel popcorn, soy sauce and butter popcorn, white chocolate popcorn, black pepper popcorn, salt popcorn, and I think maybe even more! We also had a great time going on lots of rides, eating at the cool restaurants, enjoying the parades and people watching.

Who can come up with the best caption for this one??

Amy kept wondering what all the homeless people were doing at Disney Land
until I told her that all Japanese people carry tarps, or leisure mats as they're
called here, with them to be able to sit anywhere!
I swear, they also love standing (or sitting) in lines... Perfect!

We also had a good time at Disney Sea. We decided we liked Disney Land better because there seemed to be more to do there for the children, but once again, we loved people watching, eating delicious food and going on a few rides.

We always have more fun at the little amusement park next to
the zoo than the zoo itself!

While I had such a great time showing Amy around this amazing city, my favorite parts of her visit were when we were laying around chatting and eating. I'm so lucky because I get to see Amy in a few weeks and (hopefully!) get to meet her newborn babe, too!

Thank you so much for reading. I love you.
